Håg sitting pretty on chair sales

The design-conscious furniture manufacturer Håg has been enjoying a burst of sales at home and abroad.

September 2000, in fact, was its best month ever, with sales of USD 7.3 million (NOK 70 million). For the entire quarter, sales jumped 21 percent (32 percent in the United States) while the profit margin of 8.6 percent was more than double what Håg had squeezed out in the first half of the year. "The third quarter is the start of a period in which Håg expects stable sales growth and continually improved profitability," the company stated in its third quarter report.
