According to Europemedia.net, the first ever roaming service between two GRX operators has been launced by Norway's telecom operators, Telenor and Finland's Sonera.
The GRX system enables users of either GPRS network or GSM network to use the roaming facilities of the other.
Roaming can be performed via seperate, interconnected GRX's effectively as Sonera and Telenor have shown.
"Customers expect the same roaming capabilities with GPRS as they are used to having with GSM. Together with Telenor we are able to show that customers can access their mobile services in a multi-GRX environment, wherever they roam", says Senior Vice President Timo Levoranta from Sonera.
