GexCon AS wants to better serve the needs of their clients in Australia.

“Leaders in the oil and gas industry and safety engineers with major hazard facilities have consistently sought the services of GexCon over the last 35 years to provide them with the expertise to manage the risk of fire and explosion.” Said Øystein Larsen CEO of GexCon AS “Our new Australia office will enable us to better respond to the needs of our customers and in close cooperation with the industry deliver high end risk assessment studies. The new office will allow us to be closer to our customers and support the strong growth of FLACS CFD services and FLACS software support.” GexCon also has companies in UK, USA and Sweden. In the rest of the world GexCon uses local agents.

Dr. Madhat Abdel-jawad has been appointed as President of GexCon Australia. Madhat Abdel-jawad is a recognized high-energy gas dynamics expert. His consulting experience is in leading blast modelling with a focus on consistent excellence and innovative solutions under tight budgets and schedules. He has deep experience in the development and application of new methods for modeling of explosions and reacting flows with application to multiple industries including for both offshore and onshore installations. His interest is in streamlining schedules and enhancing organizational performance. A former rocket scientist, chemical engineer and academic he also has a diverse research experience with over 30 refereed publications.

Dr. Abdel-jawad said ”I am delighted to be joining the leading company in blast modelling in the world. With the addition of our Australia office, GexCon will now be able to provide near round-the-clock support for our clients. There will be an influx of highly qualified engineers from here to Norway, and from Norway to here to ensure seamless integration and mutual development.”
