Focus on hiring Europeans

Two meetings on the subject of recruiting engineers from Europe are to be staged by the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) and three other organisations.

One session is due to take place at Haugesund’s Scandic Hotel from 08.30 on 5 September, with the second at Scandic Forus in Stavanger from 08.00 on 6 September.

Co-organisers are a partnership between the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) and the European Employment Services (Eures), plus Haugaland Growth and Greater Stavanger.

Availability
Representatives from Eures in Spain, Portugal, Poland and Romania have been invited to talk about the availability of engineers in these countries, their expertise and cultural factors.

Lunch will be served on both days, and participants will have opportunities after the plenary session to question the Eures representatives and companies with stands at the event.

Learn
“There will be time for breaks and mingling,” explains OLF communications manager Eli Ane Nedreskår. “Companies have much to learn from exchanging experience with each other.”

Participation is free and the meetings will be conducted in English. Since refreshments will be served, however, it is important to register in advance.

   Registration for Haugesund

   Registration for Stavanger

Recruitment fairs are to be staged in Portugal, Spain and Romania during the autumn. NAV Eures will be happy to assist in this context. Information on this will be provided at the September meetings.

Information on this autumn’s employment fairs (in Norwegian only) can be accessed here.
