Focus on global health

1 053 grant applications have been submitted to the Research Council of Norway.

With NOK 1.5 billion to distribute, the Research Council of Norway saw a 36 per cent increase compared to submissions last year.

The Programme for Globa Health and Vaccination Research (GLOBVAC) announed the largest amount of funding. The organisation is primarily funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad).

“Since the new programme period is just beginning, it is important to get the funding out to the researchers,” states acting programme coordinator, Åse Marit Kristiansen. “We want to open the door to large-scale, preferably international research projects, but without excluding smaller knowledge-building projects.”

The next call for proposals for innovation projects has an application deadline of 16 October.
