Norway’s exports of fish and other seafood exports are reported to have fallen in May 2004, hit by poor sales of salmon and herring.

Norway’s exports of fish and other seafood exports are reported to have fallen in May 2004, hit by poor sales of salmon and herring.

The Norwegian Seafood Export Council (EFF) reportedly said exports of fish and seafood fell by NOK227m (US$32.9m) in May, compared to the year-ago period, according to the Nordic Business Report.

Lower salmon exports to the EU and a fall in herring exports are thought to be the main reasons for the decline. Exports of herring products were worth NOK144m in May 2004, down NOK93m from May 2003.
