Norwegian-born lawyer Eva Joly has been appointed to lead a UN group which has been set up to fight corruption in Afghanistan, and will regularly visit the war-torn nation.

Joly became internationally known in the 1990s, when she led a fight against high level corruption in France, where she now lives.
At a press conference in Paris Monday, she said the group will advice Afghan authorities, and keep track of how the advice is carried out.
