SJ AB (Swedish railways) and its subsidiary Linkon have entered into an agreement with EDB for IT services that gives EDB responsibility for applications operating services for both SJ and Linkon through to 2012. The agreement represents total contract value of around NOK 300 million, and represents a renewed expression of confidence in EDB and the services it currently supplies.
"We are very proud that SJ has demonstrated its continuing confidence in our delivery of reliable and innovative operating services. EDB has already had the pleasure of working as SJ's IT-partner for a number of years, and we look forward to our continuing collaboration. Keywords such as security and cost effectiveness will be central to the services we deliver for SJ and Linkon", comments Endre Rangnes, CEO of EDB.
EDB will have complete responsibility for applications operating services for the business critical applications used by SJ and Linkon, as well as responsibility for the companies' WAN and LAN networks. The new contract also now includes applications operating services for all SJ's IT operating locations. The agreement runs for three years, with the option to extend for a further two years (1+1).
