Dolphin will implement a new chip for server infrastructure with state-of-the-art silicon technology in cooperation with Siemens

Dolphin Interconnect Solutions ASA has signed an agreement with Siemens Industrial Solutions & Services in Munich for cooperation in implementing Dolphinís next generation server infrastructure chip in state-of-the-art silicon technology. The project is based on Dolphinís advanced interconnect architecture for building scalable clusters. Dolphinís server infrastructure products are used in performance demanding applications in medical imaging, transaction processing, electronic design automation, simulators, trainers, military and aerospace applications worldwide. The new chip will interface with commodity processors and subsystems used in volume servers.

We were looking for a team that has extensive experience in handling complex silicon design projects,î said Per Moen, Project Director at Dolphin. The Siemens team has a proven track record for completing complex ASIC implementations on time and budget. They are also experienced in designing with high performance interconnects and memory systems that are important elements in the NumaChip architecture. We are confident that this will be the best solution for obtaining the project objectives.î
