Development Plan Submitted For Valhall Flanks Off Norway

A 4.2 billion kroner plan of development and operation has been submitted to authorities from BP PLC for the Valhall Flanks development off Norway, according to the Oil and Gas Journal. The plan will have two unmanned platforms added to the north and south of the existing field and adding 127 million boe to Valhall's estimated 950 million bbl of oil recovery and with 420 million already produced. During August and September, BP will award other contracts for the wellhead platforms, pipelines and drilling services. BP expects first oil in the first quarter of 2003.
