Leading global experts are meeting at Lillestrøm near Oslo this week to discuss the potential for more environmentally friendly and renewable energy with 3000 participants from 30 countries.
They will focus on such important topics as energy policy, energy effectiveness, climate technology, and – not to mention the development of renewable energy sources like wind, solar, water, biomass and biofuel.
It is the third time the NERC (North European Renewable Energy Convention) is arranged in Norway.
The conference was opened on Tuesday by Crown Prince Haakon and Industry Minister Terje Riis-Johansen.
On Wednesday Norway’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Trond Giske, will kick off the second day with a presentation of the government’s ambitions for sustainable development during the transition to a greener economy.
As in the previous conferences, this year’s NEREC focuses on the key network between research, policy, technology, finance and commercialization.
