Campaign to make more companies choose the sea

Shipping companies, ports and maritime transport organizations work together to get more people to use the sea route.

Today sees the begining of the campaign "Choose the Sea" aiming to provide a better service to those transporting goods.

- The seas biggest asset is the cost of transportation in this way. The closer the load is to a port and the further it is due to be transported, the greater the savings will be compared to putting it on a truck, says project manager for the campaign "Choose the Sea", Hans Kristian Haram.

15 breakfasts

This is the reason why shipownders, ports and organizations wanted to meet with those providing this type of transportation along the Norwegian coast. Over the next five months there will be held breakfast meetings in 15 different Norwegian cities.

- You can comes meet with us to see what we have to offer as well as getting a better understanding of how we can contribute to optimize the transportation of your goods both to and from Norway and Europe, says Haram.

If you would like to know more about "Choose the Sea", visit Maritimt-Forum here, or the project page here (both in Norwegian).
