Boom ahead for offshore suppliers

Rumours that the North Sea has "matured" as an oil province appear to have been premature. Dozens of oil companies are planning to invest USD 5.7 billion (NOK 50 billion) to USD 6.8 billion (NOK 60 billion) developing new oil and gas fields in the next few years. Thus, according to Dagens Næringsliv, an economic upturn is in store for the offshore yards operated by Kværner, Aker, ABB and Heerema as well as the subcontractors they rely on.
