AquaOptima wins international contracts

AquaOptima AS, Norway, has won contracts for supply of landbased fish farm with recirculation (RAS) to Iran for 20 millions NOK.

AquaOptima AS, Norway, has won contracts for supply of landbased fish farm with recirculation (RAS) to Iran for 20 millions NOK.
 
The company is going to supply all equipment to a farm for production of Barramundi in South of Iran based on their own technology. The design phase was done during fall 2007 and the equipment is going to be shipped to Iran during summer this year. First input of fish is planned to be done in the end of 2008.
 
Barramundi is a tropical species that is getting more an more popular in restaurants and supermarkets, and the demand for farmed Barramundi is increasing. The farm in Iran is located by the Persion Gulf and design capacity is 750 tons/y. AquaOptima has previous experience of design and supply of farms for Barramundi.
 
AquaOptima is a ”spin-off”-company from the R&D institute SINTEF, and has developed its own system for landbased fish farming based on recirculation of water. The company has 15 years of experience in supply of RAS, and farms for various species are in operation around the world, as for salmon, trout, arctic charr, cod, halibut, seabream and seabass, tilapia and eel.
 
The company is also working on a project for supply of water treatment system to an aquarium for dolphins in Kish Island in the Persian Gulf.
