Aptilo Networks has secured a three year expansion contract worth in excess of 4 million NOK (approx 620K USD) with Norways dominant operator Telenor ASA. Telenor will be using Aptilo's solution for public wireless LAN for their Hotspot roll out under the brand 'Trådløs Sone'.

Aptilo Networks has secured a three year expansion contract worth in excess of 4 million NOK (approx 620K USD) with Norways dominant operator Telenor ASA. Telenor will be using Aptilo's solution for public wireless LAN for their Hotspot roll out under the brand "Trådløs Sone". The agreement also includes Telenor's operations abroad.

Today Telenor Mobile is operating several hundred zones with wireless hotspots at gas stations and hotels using the Aptilo Network solution. The original contract was signed with Norwegian Birdstep Technology, which has since merged with Aptilo Networks.

The new agreement covers all of Telenor ASA's divisions and subsidiaries in Norway. In addition to the expansion Telenor ASA has also signed a Framework Agreement covering all Telenor companies outside of Norway, facilitating potential rollouts of WLAN networks in other markets.

"To have been selected by a much respected operator as Telenor for a multi-year agreement proves the trust in Aptilo Networks as the market leading platform provider for public wireless LAN. We see an intensified interest for public hotspots and are looking forward to be a part of Telenor's expansion plans", says Torbjörn Wård, CEO of Aptilo Networks.
