Afghan president to visit Norway

Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai has accepted an invitation to visit Norway this fall. Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre visited President Karzai in Kabul on Wednesday.

Following the meeting, Støre said President Karzai had asked Norway to not forget Pakistan when the Norwegian military engagement ends.

During the President's visit to Norway, the plan is that the two nations will sign a partnership agreement covering Norwegian aid and Afghan obligations with regard to fighting corruption and form of government.
