A stellar year for Siemens

The year 2000 has been good for Siemens in Norway.

The Norwegian arm of the international electronics conglomerate reported that pre-tax earnings increased from last year's USD 3 million (NOK 27.5 million) to USD 32 million (NOK 292 million) for 2000. Much of the bottom-line improvement can be traced to the sale of a variety of units, including Siemens Elektroengros. The company also made a structural change by transferring all its computer-related activities to the newly established Fujitsu Siemens Computers AS.
