In the "Soria Moria declaration", the government determined that it should develop national strategies for industrial areas where Norway has special skills or advantages. The maritime sector was identified as one such area.
The government's maritime strategy, "Steady as she goes", was presented in the autumn of 2007. The Government's vision is that Norway will be a world-leading maritime nation and that Norwegian maritime industries will deliver the most innovative and environmentally friendly solutions for the future.
