Small gas discovery near the Marulk field in the Norwegian Sea

BP, operator of production licence 212 E, has completed drilling of wildcat well 6507/3-9 S. The well proved gas.

The discovery was made about 20 kilometres north of the Skarv field and about five kilometres east of the Marulk field.

Preliminary estimates place the size of the discovery at between 1.2 and 2.3 billion standard cubic metres (Sm3) of recoverable gas.
