You can find the stand in Hall F, box 606. There is plenty of room here for a chat, for those so inclined. You can meet representatives from all four agencies – the NPD, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA), the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (MPE) and the Ministry of Labour – and they would enjoy chatting with the public!
You should also take the time to take our quiz, and find out how much you know about the petroleum activity on the Norwegian shelf.
At the stand you can get publications from the authorities, e.g. the Facts 2012 from the NPD and MPE. Also remember to get the NPD’s new shelf map, 10 000 maps will be handed out during the ONS week.
The NPD’s prize for improved oil recovery (IOR prize) will be awarded during the opening ceremony on 28 August. This is the first time the prize will be awarded during ONS.
On Wednesday, 29 August, the NPD will hold an IOR breakfast, where the Director General will present the background for the award, as well as the NPD’s IOR strategy. This will be followed by a presentation of the prize winner’s project. If you want to take part in the breakfast, please contact Siv Rødland by 15:00 on 27 August.
The NPD and MPE’s fact app will be launched at ONS. More information on this will be available at the stand.
Eva Halland, geologist in the NPD, will hold a lecture on 30 August at 12:30 at Centre Court. The title of the lecture is Great prospects for offshore carbon storage. The Norwegian CO2 storage atlas.
Director General Bente Nyland is a member of the programme committee for ONS 2012. She will also lead a session (which?) at the conference on 29 August.
On 31 August at 11:00, the Director General will be at Xplore North’s stand, a collaborative project between the three northernmost counties. Gro Brækken, director of the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) and Bente Nyland will discuss the opportunities in the north.
Janne-Beth Carlsen N’Jai of the PSA has designed the authorities’ stand together with the NPD and the PSA’s joint ONS project team.
