Completed seismic acquisition in the northernmost area

Artemis Atlantic has completed seismic data acquisition in the northernmost part of Nordland IV and V (“Area 1”, see map). The vessel has now started acquisition in “Area 2”.

The seismic acquisition activity in the Nordland IV and V area started on 10 July, and the work is scheduled to last one month.

The Storting (Norwegian Parliament) tasked the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) with mapping the subsurface to gain knowledge on possible petroleum deposits in the area.

The acquisition activity is divided into four areas, and the objective is to complete one area at a time so as to impede the fisheries as little as possible. Work started in the northernmost area.

Bodø radio announces the positions of the Artemis Atlantic seismic vessel every morning for the next 24 hours.
