The Association of Norwegian Maritime Exporters (NME) was founded in 1995 to promote cooperation between companies and organizations in the maritime sector and to further develop Norway's leading position within the international shipping community.
The NME provides its 140 members with a joint forum for expanding the markets of the Norwegian maritime sector internationally. Most of the country's exporting suppliers of ship's gear and related services have joined the NME. Norwegian ship's gear exports account for some 10 per cent of the global market. The NME board comprises representatives of each of the three industries within the maritime sector - ship's gear, fishing gear and aquaculture. The Association also has three marketing advisory committees, one for each industry.
The NME conducts joint international marketing efforts, including participation at international trade exhibitions, preparation of technical seminars, and joint visits to yards and shipping companies abroad. Cooperation between competitors on international marketing is a unique Norwegian tradition that dates back more than 20 years.
The NME member companies featured in this issue are identified by the "Member of NME" logo on the right or left-hand side of their pages. For further information, interested parties should contact:
