Invest in Norway
Norway has a stable economy with a long-standing record of political stability and fiscal responsibility, and boasts a sizeable petroleum surplus, a sound banking system and a healthy stock exchange. Although facing challenges in the current economic environment, the country, the Government and the people of Norway are confidently prepared to continue the positive economic progress of the past years.

Business region Oslo
Intellectual capital is placed high on the list of priorities here, and this emphasis on the human factor has helped lead to continuing strong economic growth; a remarkably low unemployment rate, and continued increase in real earning power. As a result, the Oslo region – and Norway as a whole – consistently seeks top quality, educated and experienced personnel from all over the world to work within the vibrant areas of research, business, industry, education and other innovative activities.

Business region Stavanger
In 2005, hundreds of business leaders and politicians gathered in Stavanger with an ambitious plan: to transform the region from the petroleum capital of Norway to a European energy capital by 2020. It was one of many visions launched under the Greater Stavanger Economic Development’s Strategic Business Plan 2005-2020, but probably one of the most ambitious given Norway’s status as the world’s third largest gas exporter. In the future, Stavanger will be known not just for its petroleum riches, but for its ability to exploit the powerful wave and wind resources along the coast and on the continental shelf.

Business Region Bergen
The Bergen Region is known as a vibrant, scenic, creative and industrious part of Norway. The region contains more than two-thirds of the population of the Hordaland
County on the west coast of Norway, and has potential only limited by the imagination. The numbers achieved within business and industry here are impressive:
• Represents a core centre for fisheries and fish farming
• More exports than any other Norwegian county
• High portion of Norwegian electricity production
• A major Norwegian tourist destination – Bergen as the Gateway to the Fjords
• Sustained high levels of employment within the oil and gas industry
