Kongsberg Automotive (KA) has been nominated for its biggest contract so far within the Driveline segment. The customer is a major Global Car Manufacturer and Kongsberg was awarded the contract based on its global footprint and its ability to provide a system solution.
The product is a Manual Shift system for a vehicle that will be built on three continents. The system includes the shifter, rods, the shift knob and the boot, the complete system for the man / machine interface. “This contract has once more demonstrated Kongsberg’s ability to work closely with our customers to meet their need of a system solution” says Claes Paulsson, Director of Sales & Programs, Automotive Systems Division. “Crucial has been our ability to work with the customer engineering, purchasing and production organization which is spread all over the globe. It has been a challenge and our team has responded exceptionally well to this challenge”.
The contract, which will commence in 2011 will run over 7 years and is valued at more than 100 MEUR. The shift systems will be built in our Swedish and Slovakian facilities.
