Job description

  • Provide leadership within finance, including integration and implementation of the common finance tools for our global organization, in accordance with the framework in the DNV GL strategy, budget, management system (DMS) and other regulations
  • Contribute broadly across the finance function and have a true impact on shaping future finance practices within DNV GL
  • Work closely with key managers and employees, as well as a broad network of professionals within the finance area, and other support functions


Main activities to be covered

  • Actively support the Regional Manager in developing Tactical Plans and Annual Operating Plans, as well as Scenario Planning
  • Responsible for the stewardship and reporting of the Region’s financial status
  • With a main focus on the financial aspects of the unit, you will also be expected to play an active role in other aspects of the Region's business & organisational development and be an active member of the management team.
  • Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
    • Managing and coordinating the region's forecast, planning and budgeting process
    • Reporting of key management information, including financial information, to the Regional Manager and to DNV GL corporate units
    • Supporting the implementation and effective use of tools and processes related to forecasting, planning and budgeting
    • Strong involvement in the business and commercial processes, including contract review, pricing and profitability calculations
    • Supporting daily operations; including performance analyses and improvement initiatives
    • Managing and developing an established team of direct reports
    • Represent the unit in relevant local finance fora
  • Develop and maintain key operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and corporate requirements
  • Facilitate relevant workshops and other training initiatives in the line organization
  • Drive the culture and competence development for commercial aspects in operations/production, especially those linked to the whole project management process
  • Create, build and maintain successful relationships throughout the line
  • Initiate and implement effective solutions for specific business needs in own unit
Position Qualifications
  • University degree within finance & accounting, MBA or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant and varied experience from controller-ship and financial management
  • Experience within a large organization, spread across several locations 
  • Progressive leadership and management experience within financial areas
  • Preferably, experience with integration processes within finance

  • Organizational awareness and familiarity with key challenges in such a role
  • Enterprising and pro-active with regard to system improvements 
  • A broad appreciation of the challenges and a willingness to become involved in aspects of the business beyond pure financial management 
  • Ability to gain consensus/influence in developing and implementing financial models 
  • Independent and self-driven 
  • Excellent analytical skills, target and performance driven 
  • Multi disciplinary understanding
  • Fluent in English, spoken & written
