Job Summary

As an software developer at Nevion, you will join a team providing broadcasters and service providers around the globe with world-class products for media transport over any type of network. 

You will be part of a team developing our management platform which is a fully integrated system providing an innovative new approach for management of media networks based on recent cloud computing technologies, delivering managed services and customer access, consolidating data across the entire network, providing a service perspective on operations, and service delivery capabilities to efficiently provision occasional use or permanent services.

You will work in an Agile/Scrum team environment where you will be involved in all aspects of development of our products; analysis, design, implementation, testing and installation with customers.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of software development, strong programming skills and knowledge of management systems.


Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in Java/Scala/C/C++
  • Enthusiasm about new technology

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of scalable, concurrent, event-driven and fault-tolerant systems
  • Understanding of big data architectures
  • Knowledge of asynchronous IO design patterns
  • Knowledge of functional programming
  • Knowledge of distributed file systems
  • Knowledge of distributed real-time computation systems
  • Knowledge of RESTful web api services, JSON, HTML5 and AngularJS
  • Knowledge of Ruby
  • Knowledge of different broadcast communication interfaces and protocols (DVB, MPEG, JPEG2000)
  • Experience with multithreaded designs and parallelization of algorithms
  • Familiar with digital video and audio standards and respective processing
  • Knowledge of IP networking (Layer 2 and 3 networking, multicast, routing protocols)


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master of Science (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or similar
  • Graduates with excellent results are encouraged to apply
