At the department of Electric Power Engineering, there is a vacant position as research fellow (PhD position) within "Dynamic Modelling and Control of Power Electronic Energy Conversion system"
The objective for the position is to do PhD research within the field of
Modelling, control, and design of power electronic energy converters for electric drives and/or hybrid power supply systems based on Renewable Energy (DC-DC and AC-DC converters in DC Micro grid).
Applicants should have background corresponding to a Master of Science or equivalent in Electric Engineering, Cybernetics, Electric Machines or Power Electronics and strong interest in:
- Power Electronic and Control Design
- Digital Control Theory
- Programming of Real time systems based on DSP and/or FPGA

NTNU's PhD-rules require a Master¿s degree or equivalent with at least 5 years of studies and an average grade of A or B within a scale of A-E for passing grades (A best). Award holders at NTNU are normally appointed for 4 years with 25% of the time spent on specified work. This work is primarily linked to teaching and is usually divided so that a relatively large part is done in the first half of the period of the appointment.
The appointment is at code 1017, salary level 36-62 in the national salary scheme, gross NOK. 343 700- 518 000 per annum (before tax). PhD students are normally remunerated at wage level 50. There will be a 2 % deduction to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund from gross salary.
Engagement as a PhD candidate is done in accordance with current appointment regulations with supplementary rules in force giving guidelines for scholarship appointments in universities and university colleges.
The goal of the announced position is to obtain a PhD degree. Applicants must agree to participate in organized doctoral study programs within the period of the appointment. The successful applicants must agree to the conditions laid down for public employees. A contract will be drawn up regarding the period of appointment and work-related duties for award holders.
