This is a specialist Procurement role that demands a good technical background with sound commercial,business awareness, and fundamentals. The key purpose of this position is to support & secure supplyoptimised for Reef Subsea business. To foster, support and management of the supply chains throughproject and operational phases, and to ensure that all requirements and objectives are met. The rolesupports, both the Project Team(s) from a day to day perspective, with the requirement from time totime, to be supportive of the wider Reef business, based on business needs.


  • Manage and support the supplier selection process from a Bergen Office perspective. 
  • To provide efficient and cost effective, value added Procurement support to Operations andCommercial teams. 
  • Support Procurement Team in formalisation and maintenance of business Procurement strategy. 
  • Preparing Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) and Invitations to Tender (ITT’s) and evaluate tenderresponses, including the recommendation of tender applications. 
  • Negotiate and put in place contracts and service level agreements to ensure Reef Business aremaximising the benefit of cost savings. 
  • Liaise with Legal to ensure contracts are enforceable and that the company is not financially exposed. 
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to consolidate supply and/or re-negotiate terms with existingsuppliers to ensure Reef Business has optimised the supplier base opportunities. 
  • Represent the Procurement Department on projects in cross-functional teams to help achieve theproject objectives whilst securing supply. 
  • Actively manage suppliers through regular meetings to discuss quality, service, H&S points and addressany underlying supply concerns/issues. 
  • Deputise for the Procurement Manager, as required. 
  • Ensuring compliance to all Procurement policies and procedures.


  • Business Degree/ working experience at level or CIPS qualification (or alternative)
  • Exposure and confidence to discuss supplier (s) contract terms and the ability to work with legal teamto assess contracts 
  • Ability to ensure systematic and analytical approach to day-to-day activities 
  • Technical background and, or experience. Sufficient to discuss Engineering drawings to detailed level 
  • Basic market knowledge of the Marine Engineering sector 
  • Sound grasp of the importance of supplier relationships 
  • Out-going character, with the ability to adapt to changing scenarios and environments 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to influence when needed across disciplines 
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels 
  • Excellent written communication and Microsoft Office skills
